e-Business – What To Sell

Very soon, it’ll be a 2012! Have you made your new year resolutions yet? I believe crafting your own business to be your own boss is one many will wish.

One of the most common question if you’re starting an e-business is to ask – what products to sell.

There are 4 categories of products which you might consider to start your e-business. They are :

1. Children products

2. Women products

3. Elderly proudcts

4. Men products

Yes, children products are always my favourite. Parents of their kids will surely buy anything for their young ones and both, most probably working adults, have the spending power. Educational products, toys, even high-tech gadgets like the iPad, parents will surely grab for their kids if they can afford it or they think it’s worth it for their youngs. Ask any parent, their biggest spending is surely for their kids.

Next, women products. This is a well known trend, women spent more dollars online than anyone else. Shoes, clothings, accessories, watches, cosmetics … coupled with a lot of so-called discounts and offers many online stores are offering, these women are crazy to chase over these merchandises.

Followed by products for the elderly and men … ooops, guys, sorry. Statistically, how many pairs of shoes do guys have compared to the number of shoes cabinets women have :)

So, don’t hesitate. Start your 2012 with a boom with an e-business. You’ll never regret you do (or at least try).

Is It Worth To Have Your Own e-Business?

Needless to say, it’s worth every penny and time to create your own e-business. The best job on earth is when the boss is actually yourself! Especially in today’s unpredictable economic turmoil, it is definitely worth to strive out on your own. Of course, that does not mean firing your boss. The true solution is to be an “entreployee” – a term that I’ve always preached – half entrepreneur, half employee or rather, an enterprising employee.

I’ve recently read a very good book – The 4-Hour Workweek by Tim Ferriss. Tim mentioned something like this in his book that he had work 40-hour a week to earn $40K a year; well, typical of a middle-class blue/white collar. Now, he is working a mere 4-hour a week and is earning $40K a month. How’s that for a change? Work less, earn more.

Also sharing with you on another book I’ve read quite some time back is The One-Minute Millionaire. In this book, it mentioned that there are (only) 4 areas to explore to become a millionaire – (1) real estate – buying/selling/investing in property, (2) investment in stocks and equities, (3) start a business and (4) internet. Well, to start diving into property and investment need quite a big sum of initial capital and, of course, along with the high returns (provided you’ve the right knowledge) are high risks. Starting a brick-n-mortar business need capital too. However, if you leverage on the internet to start an e-business, the startup capital is kept to the minimal.

Starting an e-business is by no mean an easy task. Nevertheless, it is the best option you have to gain financial and time freedom. The key thing here is that you must acquire the right skillsets and mindset to run your e-business so that it can be profitable, sustainable, scalable and hopefully … outsourceable. In fact, the ability to outsource your business, or at least part of your business is an important factor to gain time freedom … seriously, the 4-Hour Workweek is a must read to reaffirm the importance of outsourcing whatever you can possibly outsource; and the book gives you invaluable outsourcing resources that saves you tons of dollars.

So back to the question of whether it is worth to start your own e-business? The answer is a big Yes! Stick to Designing Web as I’ll be sharing with you on some of the crucial tools and resources to start an e-business.

QR Code Generator

It’s been some time since my last post here. That’s because I’ve been busy with several projects. One of them, which I’m announcing in this post is my latest project on QR code.

What is QR code? Well, for start, QR stands for Quick Response. Hence, QR code means the code that can produce “quick response”. In simple terms, QR code is similar to the barcode that you see on product or merchandise price tag that you see in shopping mall and retail store. Whereas, QR code is “barcode is squarish” format. Just like the one here …

I’m quite sure you recognize this. In fact, you should have seen this type of QR codes on newspapers, magazines, advertisements, flyers, websites and even .. tatoos (hey, quite a novelty idea right? LOL).

If you own an iPhone or Android phone, you can easily download QR code apps like QR Code Reader and Red Laser which are able to scan QR codes. Go ahead and install the app and scan the above QR code … see what it do.

Well, to be frank, QR code is not a new technology. It has been around for a while. But it seems that the adoption or application of of QR code technology is far from reaching its full potential. With every merchant and advertiser looking for novelty ways to reach out to existing or potential new customers, QR code can be a new “cutting edge” method to increase your bottom line. Afterall, almost everyone is carrying a (or more) mobile device(s).

If you’re looking to turbo charge the marketing power of your online (or offline) business(es), head over to WP QR Code Generator and check out how you can leverage on QR code technology to bring your business(es) to the next level.

P.S. I’m still in the process of refining the WP QR Coder website. Nevertheless, the QR code generator is ready for use. As such, I’m offering a special membership subscription of one-time $10. Yes, for a mere ten bucks, you can generate unlimited QR codes (for yourself or your clients). I’m likely to jack up my price when all are ready … so hurry now and grab it while membership price is crazily low.

P.P.S. Quick features for this QR Code Generator – It can generate QR codes to redirect to a website, send an SMS, make a phone call, send a vCard, tweet at Twitter etc. Very versatile! More details will be updated on the website soon.

Start Your Own e-Shop

You can build your own profitable e-shop, in any market and niche, even if you are a newbie.

Anyway, if you are not leveraging on Internet yet with a website representing your business, then you are losing out big time.

In the year 2008, online retail trade turnover in US was estimated somewhere around $230 billion, which is about 10% of total US retail sales! Yes, it’s ten percent.

The good thing about setting up your business online is that it is recession proof! Even with the recent economic downturn, statistic showed that the percentage of retail online trade keeps growing globally.

There are many reasons for this – people are more confident to make purchases online.

For e-business owners, the fear to start an online business has diminished. Also, people are no longer fear having their credit card number appropriated or being charged for items that are never delivered. The entire shopping experience has become absolutely seamless, efficient and easy. People find shopping on the internet to be faster and more secured.

Many people have turned to the internet to shop as they are more time-pressed. This saves them gas and possibly a couple of hours strolling around looking for they want. By simply surfing online and finding your business, they can find exactly what they want.

When you have an online presence you are also able to offer the public more. You can put your discount items or deals right on the front page. This saves customers from asking about it online.

These days, there is no need for your customer to be wondering what the product looks like. You can enlarge photos of your product and offer them in 3D views.

You may have also heard about a phenomenon called Web 2.0. Web 2.0 is all about how to make your website as user friendly and appealing as possible to both old and new customers.

Also, online delivery methods have improved. Nowadays nobody waits weeks and weeks for something that they have ordered over the internet to come to them. Now these items arrive within a few days or even less!

Are you thinking about starting a business that sells goods online but have not yet done so? It is time to put the latest online business strategies and business technology to work for you. Not sure how? No worry, check out more …
